Texas Tribune has acquired the Austin Monitor in move aimed at beefing up local news coverage
In the wake of the move, the Monitor plans to change its name this fall to reflect an expanded scope. The Monitor — which currently operates with one full-time editor and six to 10 freelancers — also plans to hire more full-time staffers.
