Dawson's Creek star looks unrecognisable in his very different new career
Kerr Smith played Jack McPhee in the hit 90s show Dawson's Creek and was a heartthrob for many, but he's now unrecognisable as he's ditched his acting career for a new venture
Over two decades after Dawson's Creek became a TV sensation in the late nineties, one of its stars has transformed beyond recognition, now fully immersed in wellness pursuits.
The iconic show first graced our screens in 1998 and ran for six captivating seasons until 2003. Despite only being on air for five years, the high school tales from Capeside have left an indelible mark on an entire generation.
Kerr Smith didn't appear in the first season, with his character Jack McPhee making his debut in season two, quickly rising to become one of the main characters.
Jack arrived in Capeside alongside his twin sister, joining the high school late. However, he is best remembered for his struggle with his sexuality, eventually coming out as gay and making history as the first openly gay character to share a kiss on primetime TV.
Fast forward nearly two decades since the show ended, the 53 year old is now embracing the great outdoors, indulging in camping, cycling, and skiing around the stunning mountains of Utah, which he now calls home, reports Surrey Live.
He's traded his once signature brown hair for a distinguished silver fox look, marking a significant departure from his 90s heartthrob image.
Post Dawson's Creek, Smith has remained a familiar face on television, continuing his acting career with roles in popular shows like Charmed, CSI: NY, Eli Stone, The Fosters, and Agents of S. H.I. E.L. D.
Notably, he also portrayed Principal Holden Honey in the hit teen drama Riverdale.
However, acting isn't Kerr Smith's only source of income. Alongside his wife, Lisa, he runs the TerraLife wellness company, which focuses on holistic health coaching, functional nutrition, and natural hormone balancing.
Smith was previously married to producer Harmoni Everett. The couple tied the knot in 2003 but decided to part ways six years later in 2009.
"Dawson's Creek" served as a launching pad for many of its cast members. James Van Der Beek went on to star in popular shows like "How I Met Your Mother" and "Ugly Betty," while Joshua Jackson landed roles in the limited series "Little Fires Everywhere" and "Fatal Attraction."
Meredith Monroe had stints on "Criminal Minds" and "13 Reasons Why," and Michelle Williams earned five Oscar nominations for her roles in "Brokeback Mountain,"Blue Valentine," and "The Fabelmans."
Katie Holmes also saw significant success with roles in "Coda, "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark," and was notably married to Tom Cruise for six years.
For fans of "Dawson's Creek," there might be some exciting news on the horizon. Speaking to The Morning Show last year, Smith revealed that a script has been written focusing on Jack's life now as the cast returns to Capeside.
He shared: "I'm working on a spin-off. Myself and a couple of other cast members are working on something. It's very preliminary at this point. But something's been written and we're trying to get it made."
