Authorities: 4 killed in Illinois plane crash were from Menomonie, WI

COLES COUNTY, ILLINOIS (WQOW) - Illinois State Police have confirmed that the four passengers killed in a small plane crash in east-central Illinois were from Menomonie, Wisconsin.

Their names have not been released at this time, pending family notification, according to the Coles County Illinois Sheriff's Office.

According to WSIL, our ABC affiliate in Harrisburg, Illinois, the crash happened Saturday morning near Trilla. A Cessna 180 plane crashed in a field southeast of the Coles County Memorial Airport.

All four occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is still being investigated by the FAA and National Transportation Safety Board.
