Drop off unwanted prescription drugs Saturday in Buffalo Grove

The Buffalo Grove Police Department and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration are teaming to host the last official prescription drug collection event of 2017.

Expired or unneeded prescription drugs can be dropped off from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at the police department, 46 Raupp Blvd., in Buffalo Grove. The agency will have a green mailbox in the station's lobby, where residents may conveniently and responsibly drop off prescriptions that are no longer need. The green mailbox is permanently located in the police department lobby which provides year-round accessibility.

In April, there were 146 drug collection sites in Illinois available for the take back day. Those sites collected 43,408 pounds of old and unused drugs.
